Nitrogen-Reducing I/A Septic Systems

Advanced Wastewater Treatment Systems

We are certified installers and maintenance providers for Hydro-Action, Orenco, and Fuji Clean wastewater systems — helping Suffolk and Nassau County homeowners reduce nitrogen pollution and stay ahead of failing conventional septic systems.

Suffolk County's Reclaim Our Water Initiative

Why Advanced Wastewater Systems Matter for Long Island

Suffolk County has more than 360,000 unsewered homes, creating excess and unhealthy amounts of nitrogen in the ground from failing, unmaintained and overloaded septic systems and cesspools. As part of the county's Reclaim Our Water initiative, Suffolk County selected homeowners by lottery to receive free advanced wastewater treatment systems in a groundbreaking pilot program aimed at greatly reducing nitrogen contamination in the county's water supply.

A&A Sewer and Drain Maintenance was the first company to install a nitrogen-reducing I/A septic system in Suffolk County during that phase 1 pilot program, installing a dozen units across the first and second pilot phases. The systems tested — from manufacturers including Orenco Systems and Hydro-Action Industries — are designed to test performance across different soil and terrain types so they can be permitted for general use throughout the county.
