In media filter systems, effluent trickles through a moist, porous media where microorganisms remove impurities. Compared with systems that blow air into liquid or use membranes, packed-bed systems use less electricity, require less maintenance, and are far less prone to upsets from day-to-day life.
Using Orenco's textile filter technology, AdvanTex can reduce BOD and TSS by up to 98% and reduce nitrogen by up to 70%. Paired with an Orenco AXUV Disinfection Unit, it can also kill nearly all bacteria and viruses where required.
Since 2000, more than 25,000 AdvanTex filters have been installed throughout North America and in more than a dozen countries — undergoing more rigorous third-party field trials than any other residential treatment system on the market.
